Do all religions lead to God?
The short answer
No, and the reason is not tribal loyalty: the faiths contradict each other about God, sin, and salvation, so they cannot all be roads to the same place. More decisively, Jesus did not present himself as one guide among many, saying, I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me. Christians can respect their neighbours of other faiths, and should, without pretending the differences are small.
The fuller answer
The reasons are not hard to state fairly. The world's faiths do not actually agree with each other at the points that matter most: whether there is one God or many or none, what a human being is, what is wrong with us, and what happens when we die. If several maps contradict each other about the destination, saying they all lead there anyway is not tolerance. It is declining to read the maps.
Jesus makes the exclusive claim himself, without embarrassment: I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Peter, preaching to the very council that had Jesus killed, refused to soften it: salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. You can reject those sentences. What you cannot honestly do is call them one path among many, because they do not describe themselves that way.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
John 14:6 (BSB)
Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
Acts 4:12 (BSB)
That exclusivity should never become arrogance, and in the New Testament it never does. The same apostles who preached one name wept over those who refused it, reasoned patiently in synagogues and marketplaces, and treated every person as a hearer to persuade, never an enemy to despise. Other faiths contain real wisdom, real morality, and real seekers, and Christians can say so gladly. The claim is narrower and stronger: the God who made us has acted in one man, at one cross, and the way home runs through him.
