- First called Sarai. God renamed her Sarah and promised that kings of peoples would come from her. (Genesis 17:15-16)

- Taken into Pharaoh's household in Egypt when Abraham called her his sister; God protected her and sent her back. (Genesis 12:14-19)

- Laughed within herself at the promise of a son in old age. (Genesis 18:10-12)
- Bore Isaac at ninety, and said, God has made me laugh. (Genesis 21:1-6)
